To the Editor:

My name is Kim Meadows and I was a helper at Portland Nazarene's VBS a couple of weeks ago. I went to our local restaurants and asked if they could donate some free coupons, for things like fries, to be used as incentives to get the children motivated to learn their Bible verses. I was, for one reason or another, not able to get anything at all donated.

I then decided to contact Chick-Fil-A in Gallatin. I knew that they were a company that was closed on Sundays as an observance for the day in which to spend with family. I asked if they could donate some coupons and they wholeheartedly donated 50 free kids' meals coupons!!

We were able to pass out each and every one of these to the children who learned their Bible verses. We even had two girls learn all five verses. They were Brittany Greene and Samantha Vance.

I just wanted to take the time and let Chick-Fil-A know just how much we appreciated them for helping us out.
