Ponce is the 67th Eagle Scout for Troop 157

Eagle Scout Alex Ponce is pictured with his father, Michael.

At an Eagle Court of Honor held on Feb. 13, 2016, Alexander Ponce received his Eagle pin and badge. The Eagle Court of Honor was held at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, where the troop is chartered. Judge Joe Thompson was the keynote speaker at the event.

Like his brother before him, Alex attained the rank of Eagle at the early age of 14. Alex completed over 21 Merit badges and completed an Eagle project to benefit the Humane Society of Sumner County. He is the son of Kim and Michael Ponce of Goodlettsville. He is the grandson of Dr. Lou Ponce of Portland.

For his Eagle project he replaced a wooden fence with a chain link fence to create a safe play area where prospective adopters could let a dog run around and play. His project included repairing and installing sections of the older wooden fence to create a barrier between the parking lot and the garden area. His project included building a new heavy bench for the outside play area, as well.
